The Phonics Dance: We will learn about each letter of the alphabet using the Phonics Dance. The Phonics Dance is a fun and effective way for our kinders to master their letters and sounds. The decoding process is made easy because of the rhyme and movement in the learning. Children of all developmental levels benefit from daily practice and reinforcement. We are very excited to share the Phonics Dance with our young learners! Be sure to ask your kinder to tell you all about it! In addition to the Phonics Dance, we will also practice writing our weekly focus letters (upper and lowercase) the "kindergarten way."

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip: Fouse kindergarten will travel to Hidden Creek Farms on Friday, October 9th. This field trip will support our study of the fall harvest. A yellow permission paper was sent home with your child today. Please complete the permission slip and send to school with your child by October 2nd. The cost for the trip is $6 per person. Please send your child’s money to school with his/her permission slip. Adult chaperones are welcome on our trip. If you would like to serve as a chaperone, please indicate so on the permission slip and send your $6 as well.
Homework: We learned how to play the card game WAR this week with our awesome volunteers. This game is a great way for children to practice comparing numerals 0-9, and using the words "more, fewer, and equal" in a real life situation. If you have a deck of cards at home, please challenge your kinder to a few games of WAR! We only used the number cards in class, but you may introduce face cards if your child needs to be challenged. If you do not know how to play this card game, please click on the "HOW TO PLAY WAR" button below for directions.
