After Spring Break: Our topic for the first week of April is spring weather and our shared reading is Itsy Bitsy Spider! Throughout the week, we will learn about the four seasons and weather conditions that occur during the seasons. We will read many non-fiction books about weather and we will learn how meteorologists predict the weather. We will even test wind direction and speed using homemade pinwheels. As part of our math lessons, we will begin Chapter 11 of our Go Math Program: Measurement. As part of our language arts lessons, we will continue working on short vowel sounds and writing CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words.
Word(s) of the Week: GET & GOT (Please continue to practice: a, am, and, at, he, I, in, is, it, like, me, no, on, see, she, some, the, we, you, play, come, you, by, my, to, for, went, do, said, look, put)
Homework: NO HOMEWORK over Spring Break. Please continue reading baggie books and practicing our kindergarten sight words!
Go Math Workbooks at Home: We have completed Chapter 8 of our Go Math program this week. Please work on completing the corresponding pages as time permits. You do NOT need to return completed pages to school.
Volunteers Needed: Fouse Kindergarten will participate in The Discover Classroom (by BrightPath Active Learning) on April 7th, courtesy of our awesome PTO! We are in need of several volunteers (both AM and PM) to help with this fun event. Information will be sent home after spring break, but I thought I'd give a "save the date" for those interested in volunteering!
